    DETAILED ITINERARY

    DAY 01

    Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

    Welcome to Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by Amicus driver in the arrivals hall at the international airport and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, free at leisure and have a good rest to recover from the jet lag. If you feel like going for a walk and checking out places nearby, feel free to ask the hotel receptionist for recommendations.

    DAY 02

    Hugnu Khan Mt. National Park

    In the morning at 8am our trip starts Hugnu Khan National Park – It is a picturesque area of Rocky Mountains, semi desert, Gobi sand dunes and steppes all in one location represents three different natural zones.
    After check-in and lunch at Ger camp near the national park, we will explore the area. There is ideal for soft hiking, wild life observation and photography. There we will visit Uvgun Monastery in the national park through the semi-desert and interesting Rocky Mountains in beautiful Mountain View.

    DAY 03

    Bayan Gobi sand dunes & Camel riding – Karakorum

    After breakfast, we will take short drive to Bayan Gobi magnificent sand dunes – surrounded by hills with willow trees, streams and bushes, and appear as a small desert in the center of the country. This sand dune is 80km long and the widest part of the sand dune is 9-10 km.
    We will explore the sand dunes and visit local camel herder family in their Ger, explore their unique nomadic lifestyle. Its chance to try drinking Hormog (fermented Mongolian camel milk).
    Continue to drive towards to a small village and one of the country’s major tourist destinations and historically known as Karakorum which was an ancient capital of Mongolia Empire. Also, this was one of the most important cities in the history of the Silk Road.
    In the afternoon, we will visit museum of Karakorum. Not much of the ancient town still exists but the nearby museum provides an excellent presentation on the archaeological research that has taken place at the site, and on Mongol history before and after occupation of the town. You can see artifacts found by the various archaeological expeditions as well as a scale model of the town prior to its destruction.
    Karakorum was ancient city of Mongol Empire, which was the largest contiguous empire in the World history. This city founded by Great king Genghis Khan in the 13th century and lately was moved to Khanbalig (modern Beijing) by Kublai Khan, greatest of the successors of Genghis Khan and founder of the Mongol (Yuan) dynasty in China.
    Continue to visit the oldest and the magnificent Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdene Zuu, built in the 16th century, with 108 stupas. Here you can see interesting listen to monk chanting Buddhist sutras. Return to the Ger camp for dinner and overnight.

    DAY 04

    Tsenkher Valley & Hot Spring

    Depart for Tsenkher Valley & hot spring which is some of the lushest countryside in Mongolia with green forested mountains and meandering rivers. There is famous Tsenkher hot spring that reaches +86.5″C. The springs have healing properties notably on articular diseases and nervous system’s diseases. Curative water and amazing nature featured by wooden mountains make this an excellent place for relax.
    After lunch is free time for you to be on your own. There is available to bath at hot spring and great opportunity to hiking or just enjoy at wild nature to take photos.

    DAY 05

    Tsetserleg town – Taikhar rock, Ar khangai

    Today our tour will continue towards to Taikar Rock, which is a massive granite rock located on the banks of the Tamir River surrounding flat country. It’s covered with 150 writings in many different languages and dating back from many different periods.
    On the way, we will visit Tsetserleg town, which is the capital of Arkhangai province with population of around 20,000. Tsetserleg means garden and the city ringed by scenic mountains, the streets are tree-lined and a lovely little temple overlooks the town.
    In the evening, we will enjoy visiting the local nomad family to experience firsthand how people live in the country side and a lifestyle which has not changed for centuries. Here you can help the herders with their daily tasks to get an idea of how nomadic people alongside of their livestock. There is we can taste Airag, which is made horse fermented milk.

    DAY 06

    Lake Ugii

    After breakfast, at 9am we will drive to Ugii Lake – is located up 1337m from the ocean level and it is a pure water steppe lake, which is 7.9km long, 5km wide. The lake Ugii is a famous for its birdlife. Ogii lake has registered in the Ramsar Convention for being important breeding and staging area for a variety of waterfowl.
    Lunch and check-in at Ger camp on shore of the lake.
    In the late afternoon is free time for your own. There is you can travel by normal boat or motor boat and go for fishing in the lake. Fishing equipment rent is available from the camp. Or just walking and hiking around the lake.

    DAY 07

    Hustai National Park (Wild Horse Park)

    In the morning at 8.30am, we will drive to the Hustai National Park. This area is home to the Mongolian wild horse known as Perzevalski horse (takhi) with unique landscape that features mountain and steppe
    After lunch at Hustai Ger camp, we will visit the small Ger museum about the national park and wild horse. The takhi and marmots are easy to see around 2-3hrs earlier than sunset, when they come down from mountains for water to stream.
    In early evening, we will take short drive and hiking to see the horses in their natural habitat. Seeing these truly wild horses which numbered in the hundreds of thousands of years ago, will make you feel like you have traveled thousands of years back in time. There is great opportunity to take photo for these endangered horses. If you are lucky, you can see fox, deer, roe deer, eagle, and more animals and birds…

    DAY 08

    Mongol Nomadic – Ulaanbaatar

    After early breakfast, at 8am we will take 1.5hrs drive to Mongol Nomadic Ger camp for Mongolian nomads show which will be show you real Mongolian nomadic way of living and traditional custom and culture for the past period. The show demonstrates traditional living way of real Mongolian nomads and breeding and using of five kinds of livestock and movement from one place to another using ox, yak, camel and horse carts which are the carts.
    After lunch time, served by Mongolian food in the camp, we will return to the Ulaanbaatar and transferred to the hotel.
    Rest of the day is free time for your own.

    DAY 09

    Terelj National Park trip & horse riding

    Depart for Terelj National Park. It’s one of the most visited national parks in Mongolia. You can see the extraordinary formation of rocks and stones; some of them look quite similar to turtles.
    We will explore the national park and visit to see Turtle Rock – interesting rock formation looking like a turtle and visit Ariyabal meditation temple – surrounded by scenic mountains with massive rock formations and sits at top of the mountain. This small hike is seen as a ritual to cleanse one’s sins. From the top, you can enjoy the breathtaking view overlooking the Terelj National Park.
    In the afternoon, we will explore the national park from horse back. Mongolia is the best destination for horse riding trip and especially Terelj national park is the best recommended place for horse trek. After given preliminary instructions, orientation about horse riding, we will discover around nature from horseback for one hour.
    Return to the Ger camp for dinner and overnight.

    DAY 10

    Genghis Khan’s statue complex – 13th century theme park tour – UB

    After breakfast, at 9am we will take 1.5hrs drive to visit “Genghis Khan Statue Complex” which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world. There is a recreation area, restaurants, and souvenir shops occupy the base structure. From here, you can ascend to the head of the horse using an elevator. There you have a good panoramic view over the complex area and the scenery beyond.
    Drive towards to the 13th century theme park- micro kingdom with separate camps for Guards, Herders, Education, Craftsmen, Shaman and King’s assembly.

    • Upon arrival at entrance, visit Relay-station camp
    • Visit and lunch at King Palace and wear Mongolian traditional costumes – it is the main attraction point of the theme park,
    • Visit Shaman camp – you can see customs, ritual of worshiping of several kinds of Shaman clan.
    • Visit herder’s camp – witness nomads’ lifestyle, great opportunity to ride a horse and a camel.
    • Visit educational camp – opportunity to get know about the unique culture of the literacy,
    • Visit craftsmen camp – enjoy seeing the craftsmen art work such as horse hold utensils, women’s ornaments, jewelry, arms and tools etc.

    Afterwards, return to the city and transferred to the hotel.

    DAY 11

    Ulaanbaatar city tour

    After breakfast, at 10am our guided city sightseeing tour will start and visit is Gandan Buddhist Monastery, which is Mongolia’s largest functioning Buddhist monastery including the Mongolian Buddhist University. The highlight of visiting to Gandan is 26-meter-high majestic gilded indoor statue of Megjid Janraisig.
    Continue to visit Museum of Dinosaur. Mongolia is second important country for discovery of dinosaur species in the world. The centerpiece of this museum is a 3m-tall, 5-tonne, flesh eating Tyrannosaurs Bataar, a cousin of T-Rex. This museum is not big. However, the collection is quite impressive as all the fossils showcased are originals and complete skeletons.
    After lunch, visit Sukhbaatar square (Chinggis Square) which is lies at the heart of the city surrounded by important buildings such as government palace, banks and theaters and post office. There is an equestrian statue of Sukhbaatar and a massive Bronze statue of Chinggis Khan with his four warriors in front of Parliament House.
    Next visit is the International Intellectual Museum. The museum displays over eleven thousands of intellectual items from 130 countries around the World. As you visit, you are allowed to touch, and challenge yourselves by putting puzzle games together, instead of merely seeing, makes the museum attractive and enjoyable
    Afterwards, we will visit “Wonders of Mongolia” folklore show by famous Tumen-Ekh ensemble – is one of the most successful folk-art groups to share traditional Mongolian music with the world, having traveled to over 40 countries.
    After dinner, transferred to the hotel.

    DAY 12

    Departure

    You will be free at leisure in your hotel or wander around on your own until being escorted to the Chinggis Khaan International Airport for your departure flight home. End of service. Meal: Breakfast

      You will stay in a good 4-star hotel in Ulaanbaatar. An upgrade is possible on request!
      During the excursion in the countryside, you will stay in Tourist Ger camps.
      Tourist Camp is a kind of hotel that serves customers with Ger (Yurt) instead of a hotel room and always located at the best viewing spot. It’s the most popular accommodation type for a countryside trip in Mongolia that consists of 30-40 Gers (Mongolian traditional yurt), a restaurant and some entertainment facilities.
      Most visitors happy to stay in Ger, which provide an authentic taste of Mongolian culture and adventure, their most enjoyable experience in Mongolia.

      During your trip in Mongolia, you will be served mainly European dishes and sometimes authentic Mongolian foods. Lunch and dinner consist of 3-4 courses (soup and/or salad, main course, dessert) and bottled water.
      If you require special meals due to religious, medical limitation and vegetarian food, please inform us so that arrangements can be made in advance.

      Car: A good car is an important part of your comfort trip in Mongolia. There will be a good 4×4 car for this trip based on the number of people in your group.


      Road:
      The asphalted roads are 40% and the unpaved roads are 60%.
      During the trip, it takes approximately 2-6 hours driving (80-280km) from one to next destination depending on road and weather condition on each driving day. But it is not nonstop drive! We can take a short stop frequently everywhere along the road for photographs, toilets, stretch and meet with local nomads.

      Hiking boots and sandals, waterproof jacket, raincoat, umbrella, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, comfortable shoe, insect repellent, sunscreen, and prescription medication (if required).
      Gear: Camera, binoculars, flashlight and travel lamp. Some Tourist camps do not have 24-hour electricity. It is therefore recommended to bring your own travel lamp!
