Ulaanbaatar Winter Festival

Ice bouwlingUlaanbaatar Winter Festival is held on the Tuul River near the Ulaanbaatar on the first Sunday of February each year.
Main highlights of the festival are archery and traditional ice bowling contests on ice, winter bicycle and dog sledding trips. Also, you can see intersecting cultural events, such as performances by ethnic bands and traditional clothes show by fashion agencies.

Genghis Khan was the founder and Great Emperor of the Mongol Empire, which became the largest contiguous empire in World history. He came to power by uniting many of the nomadic tribes of northeast Asia and started the Mongol invasions that resulted in the conquest of most of Eurasia.

Mongolia Naadam Festival Opening CeremonyThe most colorful and biggest holiday event Mongolia Naadam festival is known as "Three manly sports" including archery, wrestling and horse racing. The festival is registered with the Intangible Heritage Fund of UNESCO.
The Naadam Festival held all over the country on 11-13th of July each summer, originated many centuries ago as a test of courage, strength, daring, horsemanship and marksmanship, all necessary for a nomadic people and warriors. The largest celebration is held in Ulaanbaatar beginning on July 11.
