    DETAILED ITINERARY

    DAY 01

    Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

    Welcome to Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by Amicus driver in the arrivals hall at the international airport and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, free at leisure and have a good rest to recover from the jet lag. If you feel like going for a walk and checking out places nearby, feel free to ask the hotel receptionist for recommendations.

    DAY 02

    Amarbaysgalant Buddhist Monastery

    After breakfast, our journey will start to the beautiful Amarbaysgalant monastery located in the valley of the Iven River. This monastery registered in the world’s cultural heritage by UNESCO. Presently, 30 monks reside in the newly restored monastery ranging in age from 7 to 90.
    In the evening, visit nomadic family in their Ger, explore their unique culture and experience their lifestyle.

    DAY 03

    Erdenet town & Uran Togoo Nature Reserve

    In the morning, we will drive to Uran Togoo Mt. Nature Reserve via Erdenet which is mining city. During the communist regime, more than half of the inhabitants were Russians who worked as engineers or minors in the fourth biggest copper factory, called “Erdenet” Mining Corporation in the world. Nowadays, about 10 % of the population is Russian.
    We will arrive at Ger camp located near Uran extinct volcano. This place is great for hiking and wildlife observation. Its ridge of the crater is one of many examples of circles that arise in nature resembled a nice creature of a craftsman. Uran’s highest point provides unobstructed, panoramic views of the volcanic fields, this area is a pretty good place to break the journey to Khuvsgul.

    DAY 04

    Moron town – Khovsgol Lake National Park

    After a relaxed breakfast, depart for Khovsgol Lake, which is known as the Switzerland of Mongolia and second the clearest lake in Central Asia.
    Lunch at local restaurant in the Murun, a small town of Khovsgol province with population of 35000.
    Take a 2 hours’ drive to the Khatgal village on the shore of the lake and explore the village’s life, the market and main port of the lake.
    Drive towards the Khovsgol Lake, we will see hundreds of grazing livestock and wildlife of northern region of Mongolia
    Khovsgol province is home to the southernmost indigenous reindeer herding people (Tsaatan) in the world. Some of Tsaatan families came from remote Taiga at the summer camp near to the lake from June until end of August. Reindeer herders practice shamanism and live in teepees and moving around 5 times a year. We will meet reindeer herders and explore their daily life, custom and sacraments.

    DAY 05

    Full day at Khovsgol Lake National Park

    This morning, we will explore the national park from horse back. Mongolia is the best destination for horse riding trip and especially Khovsgol Lake is the best recommended place for this experience.
    After given preliminary instructions, orientation about horse riding, we will discover around nature from horseback until lunch time.
    In the afternoon is free time for you to be on your own. You can explore the surrounding hills and walking along the shore of the lake. The Lake water is well known for crystal clear blue and surrounded by beautiful lash green deep forest and magnificent mountains.
    Also, there is a great opportunity to do hiking, kayaking, ride motor moat or just enjoy at wild nature to take photos.

    DAY 06

    Jargal Hot Springs – Northern Mongolia

    Early this morning, we will drive towards to Khangai province through beautiful nature routes, vast grasslands cross high Mountain passes and arrive at the Jargal Jiguur Tourist camp at the Jargalant Hot Springs.
    The spring comes out from 150 m of the ground and its water is not mixed with soil, waters because it is hot at 70 Celsius degree. The spring produces water that is good for health reasons.
    After this long driving day, you will have a relaxed evening and enjoy taking a hot bath in the hot spring water.

    DAY 07

    Terkh White Lake National Park

    After a relaxed breakfast, depart for Terkh White Lake which is surrounded by spectacular scenery of plants, forests, mountains, and fauna.
    Check-in and lunch at Tourist camp near to the lake shore.
    In the afternoon is free for your own with optional activities. It is possible to do full or half day hiking for wild flower and bird watching. Also, there is a great opportunity for everyone to do horse riding, mountain climbing, fishing and swimming etc.

    DAY 08

    Khorgo extinct volcano – Taikhar Chuluu

    After breakfast, take a short drive to the Khorgo extinct volcano which was active 8000 years ago and travel through the steppe, green forested Mountains and pastures, where the long-haired yaks and horse thrive.
    After exploring the volcano and climb to the crater, we will drive towards to Taikar Chuluu, which is a huge granite rock formation covered with inscriptions in many different languages and dating back from many different periods.
    Today, we will visit to the local nomad family to experience firsthand how people live in the country side and a lifestyle which has not changed for centuries.

    DAY 09

    Karakorum & Erdene Zuu Buddhist Monastery – Bayan Gobi sand dunes

    In the morning, head to Kharkhorin via Tsetserleg town, a small village, and one of the country’s major tourist destinations. Historically known as Karakorum, which was an ancient capital of Mongolia Empire founded by Genghis Khan in 1220. Also, Karakorum was one of the most important cities in the history of the Silk Road.
    In the afternoon, we will visit the museum of Karakorum and learn more about the beautiful ancient Karakorum city and Genghis Khan.
    Continue to visit the magnificent and the oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdenezuu, built in the 16th century, with 108 Buddhisim stupas. Here you can see interesting listen to monk chanting Buddhist sutras.
    Afterwards, depart for Bayan Gobi magnificent sand dunes – surrounded by hills with willow trees, streams and bushes, and appear as a small desert in the center of the country. This sand dune is 80km long and the widest part of the sand dune is 9-10 km. Also, the sand dune called as mini Gobi. There, we will visit camel herder family and discover this magnificent place from on camel back.

    DAY 10

    Hustai National Park (Wild Horse Park)

    Following breakfast, you will be driven to the Hustai National Park. This area is home to the Mongolian wild horse known as Przewalski’s horse (Takhi) with a unique landscape that features mountain and steppe.
    Lunch and check-in at tourist camp near the National Park.
    In the afternoon, we visit the information center and learn familiar with the national park and wild horse.
    Take a short drive and walking to see the horses in their natural habitat. There is a great opportunity to take photos of these endangered horses. If you are lucky, you can see fox, deer, roe deer, eagle, and more animals and birds…

    DAY 11

    Ulaanbaatar city tour

    In the morning at 9am, we will return to Ulaanbaatar and visit Gandan which is the largest functioning Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. The main highlight of this monastery is 26-meter-high majestic gilded indoor statue of Megjid Janraisig.
    After lunch, Sukhbaatar square which lies at the heart of the city surrounded by important buildings such as government palace, banks and theaters and post office. There is an equestrian statue of Sukhbaatar and a massive Bronze statue of Genghis Khan with his four warriors in front of Parliament House.
    Continue to visit the Museum of Mongolian National History – the museum presents Mongolian history and culture from prehistoric times to the present day.
    Next, visit Bogd Khan Palace Museum – the complex was a residence of 8th Bogd Javzandamba in the 19th century, the head of Mongolian religion. The palace consists of seven Summer Prayer temples and the winter palace.
    Our next highlight in the city is a famous cultural show in the city, which is featuring traditional performances by singers, dancers and contortionists. It’s a great chance to hear Khöömii (throat singing) and see some fabulous costumes.
    After dinner, transfer to the hotel.

    DAY 12

    Departure

    You will be free at leisure in your hotel or wander around on your own until being escorted to the Chinggis Khaan International Airport for your departure flight home. End of service. Meal: Breakfast

      You will stay in a good 4-star hotel in Ulaanbaatar. An upgrade is possible on request!
      During the excursion in the countryside, you will stay in Tourist Ger camps.
      Tourist Camp is a kind of hotel that serves customers with Ger (Yurt) instead of a hotel room and always located at the best viewing spot. It’s the most popular accommodation type for a countryside trip in Mongolia that consists of 30-40 Gers (Mongolian traditional yurt), a restaurant and some entertainment facilities.
      Most visitors happy to stay in Ger, which provide an authentic taste of Mongolian culture and adventure, their most enjoyable experience in Mongolia.

      During your trip in Mongolia, you will be served mainly European dishes and sometimes authentic Mongolian foods. Lunch and dinner consist of 3-4 courses (soup and/or salad, main course, dessert) and bottled water.
      If you require special meals due to religious, medical limitation and vegetarian food, please inform us so that arrangements can be made in advance.

      Car: A good car is an important part of your comfort trip in Mongolia. There will be a good 4×4 car for this trip based on the number of people in your group.


      Road:
      The asphalted roads are 40% and the unpaved roads are 60%.
      During the trip, it takes approximately 2-6 hours driving (80-280km) from one to next destination depending on road and weather condition on each driving day. But it is not nonstop drive! We can take a short stop frequently everywhere along the road for photographs, toilets, stretch and meet with local nomads.

      Hiking boots and sandals, waterproof jacket, raincoat, umbrella, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, comfortable shoe, insect repellent, sunscreen, and prescription medication (if required).
      Gear: Camera, binoculars, flashlight and travel lamp. Some Tourist camps do not have 24-hour electricity. It is therefore recommended to bring your own travel lamp!
